Equine insurance

Pet-ID Microchips understands the value of protecting your horse should the unexpected happen. That’s why we work alongside Petplan Equine to provide you with peace of mind to know that you can get help with the cost of treatment your horse needs in the event of illness or an accident. What’s more, when you buy a Petplan Equine policy, you’ll receive your first month absolutely free*!

Having horse insurance is equally as important as having your horse microchipped, and is an important part of responsible horse ownership.

If your horse suffers an illness or injury the last thing you want to worry about is the cost of unexpected veterinary treatment.

It’s important to be aware that not all horse insurance is the same, so don’t shop around on price alone. For example, some policies apply a percentage based excess on Veterinary Fees claims, or only cover older horses for injury but not illness.

Petplan Equine policies can include:

  • Up to £5,000 in Veterinary Fees per condition
  • Third Party Liability cover up to £3million
  • Permanent Loss of Use
  • Personal Accident
  • Saddlery and Tack
  • Disposal
  • Cover for trailers and horse-drawn vehicles
  • Petplan Equine will also provide illness and injury cover up to 25 years of age, as long as your horse is insured before the age of 20
